About me and my therapy practice

I am a fully qualified, BACP registered (MBACP) integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor, using a psychodynamic and person centred approach. My expertise is working with young people, aged 16 – 20, including university students. I am also a registered Anxiety UK therapist. I have a background in education, spanning over ten years. I have also practiced as a counsellor in further education and sixth form colleges.  Previously I have lectured and supervised on different counselling courses. I have attended and completed various training events, such as self- harm, exam stress, low self esteem, anxiety, suicide and depression.

As an integrative therapist I will draw on different theories and skills and apply what is best suited to you and your needs. Therapy is a bit like a structured conversation where you can speak freely about your life without judgement. I am open and honest in relation to all aspects of my work with you. I aim to foster a confidential, non-judgemental and empathetic space, supporting you with the issues you are experiencing.

I understand the reason you are seeking counselling may not be in relation to any specific issue. For example, you may want a safe and confidential space to explore your feelings or seek to grow as a person. It is my wish that our sessions together can help you to understand yourself better and provide greater insight and awareness of your presenting issues or life experience.
